Grimaldo to Cacéres 33 miles

Hotel Extremadura
We had a late start in order to share breakfast and more talk with Mary and Jim from Ireland. A topic of depth revolves around the abuse that has occurred in the Catholic Church, it’s origins , the extent of impact of so many lives. Very thoughtful people. We connected well and exchanged emails hoping that life would bring us together sometime somewhere.
Here’s a book Jim shared with us:
And then we departed, loaded our panniers with clean clothes and headed down N360 with almost no traffic the entire way.
A Roman ruin
Salmorejo for starters at a lunch stop filled with workers taking their lunch break at 2pm and most likely their siesta afterwards.
Extremadura the province is having a severe drought . Can see how the boat launch had to be extended to reach the water level of the river .
And now we are here in Cacéres at the Hotel Extremadura and returned from a walk to the old town and walled city. The time of year works well. Muffled sounds of people strolling, children playing, eating and drinking - post summer intensity.
Wine and ice cream for dinner .
I recognise some of the photos, did you stay at el poasado de grimaldo?
